Employee Spotlight: Cori Pirzadeh
Would you consider working for a previous employer again? Cori Pirzadeh achieved great success during her first five years at Kforce before leaving the firm in 2011. Nearly a decade later, she didn’t hesitate when an opportunity to return arose. Read on to learn what she loves about Kforce and the factors that influenced her decision to come back.
What initially attracted you to Kforce?
I first started working at Kforce in 2006 after a recent move to the DC area from San Diego. I was already familiar with the company because my former roommate worked for Kforce. An internal recruiter reached out and brought me in for an interview and I absolutely loved the company. Being new to the area, I also felt working for Kforce would be a good way to learn about the different companies in DC and to meet people in general—especially business-minded professionals like myself.
I loved the entrepreneurial spirit of Kforce.
I stayed with the firm for about five years. During that time, I earned a spot on two of the company's incentive trips for top performers, which was a lot of fun. However, my husband and I both had a desire to move back West. We decided to relocate to Grand Junction, CO in 2011, where unfortunately there wasn’t a Kforce office nearby. So, although I was successful in my role and loved working for Kforce, I decided to resign.
You left Kforce for several years before returning. What brought you back?
Early in the pandemic, when everyone was in quarantine, I started seeing a lot of posts on social media from people I still had connections with from Kforce highlighting the support and flexibility the company was providing them. Their posts really stood out and stuck with me.
I honestly feel like the stars aligned because I always loved Kforce and missed it.
Later that year, my husband met Josh Borden, Kforce Region Senior Vice President, at a golf course in Denver. Josh was wearing a shirt with Kforce’s logo on it, so my husband struck up a conversation with him—“Hey, my wife used to work there!” After chatting for a bit, Josh asked my husband if I would ever consider coming back. That started the conversations between him and me, and then between myself and Kforce Senior Director, John Padilla.
Is there anything different about working for Kforce now?
When I left Kforce in 2011, there were very few remote employees—especially in sales. So, the biggest difference is our office-occasional work model. I live in a small city where there are not a lot of opportunities, yet. But with Kforce, you have access to any opportunity someone in a larger city would have.
I love how our remote work environment levels the playing field and allows people to find great careers regardless of their physical location.
It all comes back to one of the things I have always loved most about Kforce—support. When I was new to the company in 2006, I was given the support I needed to learn about the market and become a top performer. Today, Kforce is still providing the support we need to excel in both our personal and professional lives with a culture of flexibility, innovation, trust and investments in the latest tools and technologies.
