STEM Career Spotlight: Data
Michael Andux, Sr. Manager of Analytics and Business Intelligence
I’ve been with Kforce for 16 years. I started in Finance and now I work in IT.
I manage the Business Intelligence and Analytics team; we gather and share all the reports and data needed to help different areas across the firm. Our work matters on every level, because our goal is to keep data in front of people so that they can have the knowledge and insights they need to be successful. By finding and reporting different data trends and patterns throughout Kforce, we can work together to see the big picture and find easier, better ways of doing things.
The constant change in technology keeps me on my toes. We’re always having to adapt to a new system, new terminology or new processes; things look different every day.
I am naturally interested in data. I feel a need to understand root causes and I’ve always been the person who dug a little deeper into problems and spent extra time trying to figure things out. It’s been awesome being able to put that instinct into practice during my years of growth at Kforce.
Be persistent and don’t let failure stop you. There’s been plenty of times I’ve experienced failure, and it can be frustrating. But if you use it as an opportunity to learn, you will go far.
